Grouting Floor Tiles
- First, check that the adhesive has set and the joints between the tiles are clean, dry, and clear of adhesive
- Apply a protective sealant to porous tiles to prevent discolouring, trying a small area first
- Now you’re ready to start mixing the grout. The quantity of water to grout will be given on the packaging. Measure the water you’ll need for your mix and pour it into a mixing bucket to the required level of powder. Gradually add the powder. Stir as you go to create a smooth, lump free consistency. Only mix the amount of powder you’re likely to use within a couple of hours
- Check the grout is well mixed
- Now you’re ready to start applying the grout. Use a grout float to carefully press the grout into the grout joints
- Clean any residues from the surfaces of the tiles with a damp sponge before the grout starts to set
- Once set, polish the tiles with a clean, damp cloth to remove any remaining grout film
