Tiling Onto A Timber Floor
- The first step is to make sure the background surfaces are clean, flat, dry, and strong enough to support the tiling
- Remember to prime the back, face and edges of the board with undiluted Norcros Prime Bond. Check for any special preparation for your background
- Now you’re ready to start mixing the adhesive. Here we are mixing a 7.5kg bag. Pour cold water into a mixing but at the required level for the weight of powder
- Gradually add the adhesive, stirring as you go, blending the mixture into a smooth, lump free consistency. Only mix the amount of adhesive you will be able to use within 30 minutes
- Spread the adhesive with a suitable notched trowel
- Firmly apply the tiles into the adhesive ribs with a slight twisting action to flatten the ribs to create an even, solid bed of adhesive. It is advised to lift a tile every now and again to check the coverage
- The adhesive is rapid setting, so the tiles can be grouted 3 hours later
