Tiling Onto A Timber Floor

  1. The first step is to make sure the background surfaces are clean, flat, dry, and strong enough to support the tiling
  2. Remember to prime the back, face and edges of the board with undiluted Norcros Prime Bond. Check for any special preparation for your background
  3. Now you’re ready to start mixing the adhesive. Here we are mixing a 7.5kg bag. Pour cold water into a mixing but at the required level for the weight of powder
  4. Gradually add the adhesive, stirring as you go, blending the mixture into a smooth, lump free consistency. Only mix the amount of adhesive you will be able to use within 30 minutes
  5. Spread the adhesive with a suitable notched trowel
  6. Firmly apply the tiles into the adhesive ribs with a slight twisting action to flatten the ribs to create an even, solid bed of adhesive. It is advised to lift a tile every now and again to check the coverage
  7. The adhesive is rapid setting, so the tiles can be grouted 3 hours later
