Using Pro Gyp-Base on an Anhydrite Screed

Using Norcros Adhesive’s fast track solution for tiling to anhydrite screeds you can tile to 7 day old screeds (up to 95% RH). The kit contains everything you need to prepare 25m². It’s been tested and approved by Gypsol.

  1. Pump the Anhydrite screed
  2. Remove all air bubbles and allow to dry until the screed has achieved a Relative Humidity of not greater than 95%. This will be around 7 days after the screed has been laid
  3. Remove all traces of laitance and dust by lightly sanding the surface
  4. Mix parts IA and IB together and mix until it is smooth and lump free
  5. Apply to the screed using a roller or brush. Allow to dry for 2 hours
  6. Mix parts 2A and 2B together and mix until it is smooth and lump free
  7. Apply to the screed using a roller or a brush, at a 90° angle to the first coat
  8. Allow to dry for 24 hours
  9. Pour the moisture suppressant into a suitable tray. Apply first coat using a roller or brush and then allow to dry for 1 hour
  10. Apply second coat of moisture suppressant using a roller or brush, at a 90° angle to the first coat. Allow to dry for 1 hour
  11. Apply one coat of the gritted primer. Allow to dry for 1 hour
  12. Prepare and mix Norcros Pro-Gyp Base tile adhesive, and apply to screed. If required, apply Pro-Gyp Base Levelling Compound before tiling commences
  13. Lay tiles, then grout once adhesive is dry
