NORCROS IN THE NEWS
Norcros Employees were featured in The Sentinel local paper in relation to some training provided through Stoke – on – Trent College as part of a new ESF funding initiative has enabled employees at Norcros Adhesives to take advantage of additional training for employment.
Stoke – On – Trent College’s team of business advisors will carry out a free training needs analysis for your business and then recommend specific solutions to meet the needs of your business and your employees, from apprenticeships through to bespoke training packages and qualifications specific to your business’s needs. This is a solution on offer to businesses employing less than 250 people at either no cost to the business or at a highly subsidised cost.
Jackie Gill; Key Account Manager at Norcros Adhesives said in an interview with The Sentinel, that having previously worked successfully with Stoke – On – Trent College to source apprentices for the business, and then to identify the additional training needs of the younger members of staff; they would be looking to work with the College in the future to find apprentices for their warehouse operations as well.
The training needs analysis carried out at Norcros resulted in the identification of the younger members of the workforce needing additional training for the telephone, as it is something that they are not used to, having no previous experience.
Chelsey Mills; Customer Service Advisor at Norcros said that the telephone training she received had helped her to build her confidence with dealing with customer complaints, an important aspect of her job. Beth Poole; A Junior Office Administrator at Norcros also felt that the training had helped her to communicate better with the customer.
Jackie was impressed that the college had set up such a good system, as the training was totally flexible and bespoke to Norcros.
